sailer
Prof. Dr. Irena Sailer & Team

30. August 2019, 9:00 - 31. August 2019, 17:30

Day 1/Theoretical part:

  • Prosthetically oriented implant treatment planning, pre-treatment diagnostics with conventional and digital methods
  • Abutment connection and soft tissue management
  • Optical implant impressions for fixed implant reconstructions – current status of the available systems, options and limitations
  • Selection of prosthetic implant abutments, types and materials
  • CAD/CAM vs. conventional fabrication of the implant reconstruction – chairside fabrication, labside fabrication
  • Criteria for the choice of the restorative material – metals, ceramics, hybrid materials

Practical part:

  • Optical implant impressions for a chair-side implant single- unit reconstruction, digital design of the reconstruction, and chair-side fabrication using glass-ceramics and hybrid materials, adhesive cementation of reconstruction on a titanium resin base.

Day 2/Theoretical part:

  • Screw- retained or cemented, which fixation method for which indication?
  • Fixed vs. removable reconstructions – indications
  • Removable implant reconstructions – selection of components, materials and technology
  • Long-term outcomes of implant reconstructions
  • Patient situations with limiting anatomical situations for implant dentistry: short implants and narrow diameter implants
  • Prosthetic management of esthetic complications – pink ceramics
  • Surgical and technical complications – how to solve the problem

Practical part:

Management of different types of complications on models

  1. Removal of access cement
  2. Screw head destruction of abutment or prosthetic screws – practical application of rescue kits (e.g. service kit, Straumann)
  3. Internal fracture of screws or ceramic abutments – techniques for removal of fractured components
  4. Clinical repair of chipping of veneering ceramic
  5. Minimally invasive implant solutions – hands-on narrow diameter implants
